Erik Schwink

Vice President, Virtual Member Engagement SECU Credit Union
Erik Schwink is the VP of Virtual Member Engagement for SECU Credit Union. SECU is Maryland’s largest Credit Union with over 250,000 members and assets exceeding 5 Billion Dollars. Erik has been a member of SECU’s leadership team for 10 years. Upon joining SECU, he was tasked with the conversion of the Teller Services model from having in-branch tellers to an ITM service model with Video Tellers supporting all of the Credit Union’s branches from our corporate headquarters. Upon the successful conversion of the Retail Network to the new Teller Services model, Erik was afforded the opportunity to partner in the development of a Virtual Financial Center for SECU. Launched in late 2020, the Virtual Financial Center provides members with the opportunity for self-service as well as consultative video interactions with Member Advisors. The Virtual Financial Center has experienced significant growth since its launch in 2020 and Erik is active in the strategic planning for the platform which has resulted in moving from an appointment only model to having both appointments and an “open lobby” allowing for real time access to a Member Advisor for our both current and prospective members. In 2025, Erik is overseeing the launch of the Virtual Business Open Lobby to support the Credit Unions focus on Small Business members and he is leading the expansion of Virtual Branches in Maryland supported by ITMs and links to the Virtual Financial Center. Outside of SECU, Erik enjoys traveling with his wife of 27 years and getting the opportunity to play golf and attend musical events with his three sons.
