Margaret Tillman

VP, Marketing City National Bank

Margaret Tillman is the vice president, collateral and merchandising manager for City National Bank, based in Los Angeles. Margaret is responsible for creating the bank’s merchandising strategy and overseeing the production of merchandising materials and sales collateral in collaboration with the entire marketing team.

Margaret’s far-ranging merchandising responsibilities include creating consistent branding and messaging throughout the bank’s 70+branch network; marketing new office openings; developing and coordinating the merchandising of specific products in line with product launches and marketing campaigns; maintaining a merchandising database of assets; managing and reporting on results of the digital merchandising strategy; and conducting market research and intelligence to evaluate merchandising effectiveness.

Working closely with partners to develop strategic and effective collateral, Ms. Tillman oversees the creation, provision and coordination of sales materials for the bank, enabling sales efforts in all lines of business, segments and products. Her group also owns the Marketing Resource Center, City National Bank’s online, one-stop storefront for marketing collateral.

Margaret has more than 10 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining City National, she was assistant vice president and marketing manager for 1st Century Bank, where she was responsible for marketing, project management, event planning, investor relations and communications. Prior to 1st Century Bank, she worked in marketing for the healthcare and professional sports industries. 

Margaret received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She is an active alum and a member of the university’s mentorship program. She completed the Marketing and Advertising program of the American Bankers Association Bank Marketing School. She is also active in numerous local charities.
